I ran a 14-truck HVAC operation in Atlanta for 8 years before selling it in 2019. During that time I tried every major field service platform — Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, and more. I watched software vendors oversell features and underdeliver on support. I saw contractors sign 3-year ServiceTitan contracts they couldn't get out of. I built this site to give other HVAC owners the unfiltered truth I wish someone had given me.
How We Test HVAC Software
Full trial, real data
We sign up for every platform we review with a real account, enter real customer and job data, and run the platform through actual HVAC workflows — not staged demos. Minimum 30 days per platform.
Field test with technicians
We partner with active HVAC businesses to test mobile apps with real technicians. Features that look good in a demo often break down when a tech is on a job site with bad cell service and greasy hands.
Support evaluation
We contact every platform's support team with real questions — and time their response. We evaluate helpfulness, not just speed. Platforms that leave contractors on hold or in a ticket queue get marked down.
Owner interviews
For every major platform, we interview 5–10 HVAC business owners who use it daily. Their real-world feedback informs the pros/cons section more than any technical feature review.
Annual re-evaluation
HVAC software changes fast. We re-evaluate every platform annually and update reviews when pricing, features, or quality changes significantly. You'll always see the "last updated" date at the top of every review.
